Builder and Decorator – Residential & Renovation Projects

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £32,000 per annum
Start Date: 01/07/2025

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Builder and Decorator to manage and execute home, garage, and renovation projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will hold an engineering degree and bring at least 3 years of hands-on experience in the construction and interior/exterior decoration field. You’ll play a key role in project planning, construction, finishing, and ensuring a high standard of workmanship throughout.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute construction, renovation, and decoration projects including foundations, walls, roofing, tiling, flooring, and painting.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and client requirements to deliver high-quality builds and finishes.
  • Manage site preparation, materials procurement, and construction timelines.
  • Carry out decorative work such as plastering, painting, wallpapering, and surface finishes.
  • Ensure all work complies with building regulations, safety standards, and quality expectations.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized worksite and ensure proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in building, renovation, and decorative construction work.
  • Strong technical knowledge in construction methods, materials, and safety protocols.
  • Excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail in both structural and finishing work.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and engineering documents.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive work ethic.
  • Valid driving license preferred.

  • Experience with eco-friendly and modern construction methods.
  • Proficiency in project management software or construction scheduling tools.
